SENIOR RECOGNITION
The President’s Outstanding Senior Recognition Awards are sponsored annually by the UM Penetralia Chapter of Mortar Board. This Senior Recognition Award is presented to outstanding graduating seniors in academic areas and University-recognized organizations. Students are chosen on the basis of academic performance in addition to devotion to the excellence of their departments and The University of Montana. One senior from each department and each organization will be honored with an engraved medallion and award certificate at the ceremony held traditionally on the Friday before Commencement.
Students are nominated by their department or ASUM-recognized organization in the spring based on the following criteria:
1) The student must graduate within the 2009-2010 academic year. (Graduation papers filed covering the Fall 2009-Summer 2009 year) Note: Fall 2010 meets next year’s criteria.
2) The student must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher; and
3) The student must demonstrate a commitment to his or her academic discipline or student organization through professional development, leadership and service.
