2010-2011 Memebrship:
Penetralia Chapter will recruit a strong, qualified pool of interested candidates from across campus, all efforts will be made to recruit candadates from diverse backgrounds and experiences.
Recruitment and Selection Principles-
- Mortar board, Inc as an honor society, shall be an association of individuals selected for distinguished ability and achievement in scholarship, leadership and service.
- Mortar Board is a selective senior honor society, not an exclusive organization. Membership will be offered to all students who exemlify the idea of scholarship, leadership and service set forth in the purpose of Mortar Board, as outlined in Bylaw, Article II.
- Selection will be as unbiased as possible and based solely on candidates' accomplishments in the area of scholarship, leadership and service entail.
- New members shall be selected by the existing chapter once a year.
- All attempts shall be made to ensure a fair and just selection process.
- No students shall be discriminated against on the base of race, ethnic origin, creed, age, sex, affiliation, marital status, sexual orientation or physical challenge, or may other affiliation or protected class.
- Students shall be selected based on the additional criteria: must have 90 credits or more at the start of the academic year of membership. Minimum 3.0 GPA required.
