The University Concert Band is a large musical organization that provides a performing outlet for all University of Montana woodwind, brass, and percussion players who are interested in continuing their musical growth and performance opportunities. The Concert Band is under the direction of UM Associate Director of Bands, Dr. Kevin Griggs. No audition is required for participation in the band.

The ensemble explores a wide variety of repertoire to address the diverse interests and desires of its student population (both majors and non-majors) as well as the enjoyment of the audience. The UCB performs two concerts per semester and often performs at the UM Concert Band Festival. All students are welcome to participate, regardless of major.

Rehearsals

Rehearsals take place during fall semester on Tuesday and Thursday from 5:00pm–6:00pm and during spring semester on Monday and Wednesday from 4:00pm-5:20pm in the Dennison Theatre.
