The UM Chamber Chorale is a select choir of 36 singers chosen by audition at the beginning of each school year. Members of the choir include music majors as well as students from colleges across the campus. The Chamber Chorale performs repertoire from a variety of genres, historical periods and cultures and continually reaches the highest level of artistic excellence in their performances both on- an off-campus.
Every year the choir presents at least three on-campus performances including a combined concert of choral masterworks with the University Choir and the UM Symphony Orchestra in the fall semester. In addition to these performances, the Chamber Chorale regularly performs off-campus in various venues including a High School choir tour in conjunction with the UM Opera Department, as well as at various state music festivals. This year, the choir has been invited to be the guest choir on the Missoula AA Choir Festival in November, which also features a combined group of singers from five Montana high schools.
Auditions for the Chamber Chorale are held once each academic year in the fall.
