Mountain Electroacoustic Laptop Ensemble (MELEe)
The Mountain Electroacoustic Laptop Ensemble (MELEe) is a composition workshop and performance ensemble for advanced undergraduate and graduate composition students. Students compose structured improvisations and play electroacoustic and acoustic instruments, using MIDI controllers to interactively process the instruments with effects, and trigger synthesis and sequencing, on laptop computers. Compositions are notated with a combination of traditional musical and graphic notation, rehearsed and critiqued weekly, and performed by the ensemble.
