Fusion Concert

General Information
Modeled after Eastman’s “Prism” and Michigan’s “Collage”.
- Features faculty and student talent in a single diverse concert.
- Soloists to large ensembles and everything between.
- Diverse genre from early music to cutting edge, representing every performance area in the School of Music.
- Four different stages (Center, Left, Right, Hall)

Absolutely NO space or silence in between acts. Dovetailing or even
slight overlapping is preferable to space in between pieces.
Call for applications
- FACULTY - apply for themselves. No CD required. Smaller groups/soloists play for no more than 3 minutes. Single mood or tempo preferred. Ensembles led by faculty but have students must submit a CD.
- STUDENTS – Create a CD of your group with the piece that you are performing. Smaller groups/soloists play for no more than 3 minutes. Single mood or tempo preferred.
- LARGE ENSEMBLES(SWE, SO, UC) play 2-3 pieces with snippets from 3-5 minutes.
Application Email:
- “Fusion” and “your last name” in the subject line.
- Name of composition, composer, and EXACT duration (min & sec)
- Exact instrumentation
- Names of performers (as they should be noted on the program)
- Brief description of the piece and possible recordings.
- For student entries, you must include a CD of the piece being performed BY the student who will be performing.
- Once selected, the performers will be asked to provide two (2) photocopies of the score outlining the exact music to be performed.
- ALL APPLICATION MATERIALS MUST BE SUBMITTED BY WEDNESDAY, December 1, 2010.

Tech Rehearsal:(required of some performers - at least one member of every group)

Dress Rehearsal:(required of ALL performers)

Performance:
- Friday, February 3 (noon) – University Theater
- Friday, February 3 (evening) – University Theater
Final programming decisions will be made by the committee by Dec. 6.
