Piano Camp - June 14-20, 2020

Dear Campers and Parents, We regret to inform you that we’ve decided to cancel our June Music and Piano Camp dates because of concerns surrounding COVID-19. We are investigating the possibility of holding camps later in the summer. Please stay tuned for more details.

To reserve a space for your camper your deposit must be paid at the time of registration.  Complete and return the Camp Application, Medical Consent, Student Conduct Agreement and Photo Release forms and the remainder of your payment to the UM School of Music office by May 29, 2020. The School of Music will not invoice for the balance due.

Registrations received  after May 29 will be accepted on a space available basis.  Registration after May 29 requires full payment at the time of registration.  Payment/registration confirmation will be sent via email.

Commuter Camper Fee:

Fees include: Camp Tuition, Camp T-shirt, Recreational Activities & Group Photo.
  • Tuition:  $425
  • Deposit: $100 (Due at the time of registration)
  • 1/2-hour Private Lessons (optional): $25

Camp Meal Plan (Optional)

  • Lunch Only:  $47
  • Lunch/Dinner:  $87

Optional meal plans may be added at anytime up to 12pm Wednesday, June 10. After this date the option for adding or changing meal plans will no longer be available. With evening activities planned we suggest at least thinking about adding the dinner only plan. All meals are eaten at the Food Zoo located in the Lommasson.  On Wednesday the campers will be going to lunch at Caras Park during Out-To-Lunch.  If your child is not participating in the optional meal plan, make sure he/she brings lunch money that day.

  • Deposit: $200 (Due at the time of registration)
  • 1/2-hour Private Lessons (optional): $25
All meals are eaten at the Food Zoo here on campus located in the Lommasson.  Wednesday lunch will be at Caras Park for Out-to-Lunch.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations received prior to 5pm, Friday, May 29 will receive a full refund of all monies paid.  Please allow 4-5 weeks for processing refunds.  Cancellations received prior to 5pm, Friday June 5 will receive a refund less your paid deposit. Audition Requirements:

In order to help match students for duets and piano team pieces, it is necessary for all campers to submit CD of solo repertoire currently being studied.  This may be sent in the form of a DVD, CD, or even attached online as in mp3 format.
 
  1. Submit a Tape/CD/mp3 format (steven.hesla@umontana.edu) with Two Contrasting Pieces.
  2. List several pieces that you have worked on in the past 12 months.
  3. Submit a letter of recommendation from your piano teacher.
  4. Recordings must be submitted as soon as possible after applying in order to assure proper placement in camp ensembles.
