Why Delta Gamma? + How do I join? + Scholarship + Diversity + Campus Involvement + Social + Leadership + Sisterhood

Why should I consider joining Delta Gamma?

"[Our] primary purpose is to foster high ideals of friendship, promote educational and cultural interests, create a true sense of social responsibility, and develop the finest qualities of character."

What does that mean? It means that as an organization we're committed to being the best in all regards. Through our sisterhood we find the strength to be leaders in the community and in the world. We help each other to achieve whatever goals we set, both as a group and as individuals. We want to make the world a better place and have fun while doing it. Don't you?

How do I join?

Although main recruitment occurs in the Fall, you can contact us or the University GreekLife office for information at any time. We're always excited to meet the women who go through recruitment and will be our future sisters. Recruitment events will allow you to meet members, tour our home on University Avenue, and learn about our Chapter. You'll learn about our different personalities and why we chose Delta Gamma, but one thing's for sure... we all love being DG's!

Scholarships

Sorority women on the University of Montana campus consistently have a higher average GPA than non-Greek women. With a Spring 2008 GPA of 3.08, Delta Gamma exceeded the All Campus GPA and met the All Women's Campus GPA. Delta Gamma has the highest Spring GPA of all the Greek Chapters.
For Members and New Members of Delta Gamma several scholarships are offered. Most scholarship applications are due in February and are granted in March. Scholarship's come from local alumnae as well as Delta Gamma's Foundation.

Diversity

Part of the value of sorority membership is working with a wide variety of people in many environments. This prepares members for the realities of life after college, and educates us about different lifestyles. Member of Fraternities and Sororities have different backgrounds, races, religions, values and beliefs, unique talents, interests, and academic majors. Delta Gamma prides itself as a Chapter that is diverse in all these areas.

Campus Involvement

Sorority women engage in many non-Greek activities and therefore have friendships with many others outside of their house and the Greek system. The sisters of Delta Gamma are involved in campus activities such as:

Advocates
Peer Advising
Intramurals
Peer Tutoring
Griz Soccer
Ursus Servitas (US)
Big Brothers, Big Sisters
The Flagship Program
ASUM Senate
MontPIRG
Order of Omega (Greek Honor Society)

Social

Sororities provide their members with a broad range of social events to participate in. Some Delta Gamma activities include: formal dances, date parties, alumnae brunch's and socials, family weekend events, homecoming brunch and parade, sisterhood retreats, football tailgates for alumnae and family, sisterhood activities (ie: bowling, Splash Montana, road trips), and intramural sporting events.

Leadership

Sororities are self-governed and therefore require strong leadership skills. Opportunities within Delta Gamma range from executive office positions to directors of committees and events. The experience alone of working with others will leave you with a broad knowledge of how to lead an organization or business, not to mention how to be a part of a productive team.

Sisterhood

The friendships you will find in Delta Gamma go anchor deep. Whether you need someone to laugh or cry with, a sister will be there for you. We hope you will join us in one of the strongest sisterhoods on campus!
