Pre-Nursing students considering relocation in or out of state can complete many required nursing prerequisite courses for the nursing program of their choice at The University of Montana. These courses typically take about two years to complete. UM’s Pre-Nursing Advisor assists students in selecting a program that fits their situation and offers guidance in determining which UM courses transfer to their selected program.
Programs in Montana
In Montana, associate degree RN programs are currently available at: UM College of Technology, Missoula; Salish Kootenai College, Pablo; MSU-Northern, Havre; Montana Tech of The University of Montana, Butte; and Miles Community College, Miles City. A traditional bachelor’s degree can be obtained throughCarroll College, Helena and MSU-Bozeman. The University of Montana College of Technology in Missoula also offers a program in LPN (Licensed Practical Nursing). Additionally, the COT’s in Missoula and Helena offer a “stepping stone” ADN, RN program. The LPN certification program needs to be completed first, however. Most of these programs have a clinical component to them so program entry is limited.
