“The New Genetics: A Visit from Prometheus or Pandora?”

Thursday, 24 February 2005
8:00 P.M.
University Theatre

Evening lecture in conjunction with the Institute of Medicine and Humanities: "The New Genetics: A Visit from Prometheus or Pandora?" on Thursday, 24 February, at 8:00 P.M. in the University Theatre on The University of Montana campus.

Fr. FitzGerald holds a Ph.D. in molecular genetics and a Ph.D. in bioethics. He has published extensively on stem cell research, human cloning, the Human Genome Project, and health care ethics. To the fascinating subject of the new genetics he brings the professional perspective of a research scientist and the spiritual values of a Christian ethicist.

In addition, Fr. FitzGerald will give a faculty-student lecture that afternoon entitled "Stem Cell Research: What is Progress?" from 3:40-5:00 P.M. in Gallagher Business Building 123.
