You are cordially invited to attend a seminar with Wladimir Romuald Krysinski.  He has an international reputation as a specialist in world and comparative literature.

After receiving his Ph.D. from the University of Strasbourg in 1966, he taught for ten years at Carleton University.  Since 1976 he has taught at the University of Montreal.  He teaches courses there on modern French, Polish, Russian, and Italian literature, as well as on literary theory and literary semiotics.  He has been a tireless author of books and articles in these fields.  Invitations to teach and to give lectures have come to him from universities all over the world.  Among his current book projects is “Worlds of Literature:  Dissemination of an Idea from Goethe to Eco.”

In addition, Professor Krysinski will give a lecture that evening, entitled “Rethinking ‘World Literature’: from Goethe’s Idea to  Harold Bloom’s Western Canon,” at 8:00 P.M. in the University Center Ballroom.
