(P.L. Wright Lecture in Conservation Biology in the Ecology Seminar Series)
You are cordially invited to attend a seminar with Judith Meyer. She received a Ph.D. from Cornell in 1978. The year before, she became an assistant professor of zoology at the University of Georgia and has been there ever since. In 1996, the university made her a distinguished research professor. An award-winning teacher and researcher, she has built an international reputation for her work on terrestrial-aquatic ecosystem interactions and related areas of research. Since 1972, her papers have appeared in leading scientific journals. Requests for her to give seminars and lectures have come from all over the world. She has served on the editorial boards of eight science journals and currently sits on the EPA Science Advisory Board. Extremely active in scientific societies, she is a past president of the Ecological Society of America. Congress calls on her for expert testimony about the nation’s river systems.
In addition, Professor Meyer will give a lecture on Tuesday, 14 November, at 8:00 P.M. in the University Theatre. The title of this lecture is “Birthplaces of Rivers: The Diversity, Destruction, and Restoration of Headwater Streams.”
