“What Went Wrong with U.S. Foreign Policy”

The author of Taming American Power: The Global Response to U.S. Primacy (2005) and the co-author with John Mearsheimer of a seminal 2006 article on the influence of the Israel lobby over U.S. policy in the Middle East, Professor Walt is a leading thinker in the “realist” school of diplomacy. He will discuss the messianic aims of U.S. foreign policy, the reasons why they could not be achieved, and the political forces promoting them.

In addition, Professor Walt will give a Faculty-Student Seminar entitled, "The Israel Lobby and U.S. Foreign Policy" from 3:10-4:30 P.M. in Gallagher Business Building 123.
