Graduate Student Financial Support

American Indian Graduate Center

Description: The program provides financial assistance for American Indian graduate students. Awards are based on ability and need as verified by the applicant's college financial aid office. They are renewable upon application and are to be used for tuition, fees, books, and living expenses. Master's students can be supported for 2 years and doctoral students for three.

Eligibility:

  1. Students in all fields are eligible to apply, including medicine, dentistry, and veterinary medicine.
  2. Preference is given to persons studying in the areas of health, business, law, education, engineering, natural resources, and areas related to these six fields.
  3. Applicants may be graduate students at any level of study or applying to a degree program for the coming year.
  4. Applicants must be Native Americans who are members of federally-recognized or Alaskan Native groups, and who have at least one quarter Indian blood.
