Peter H. Koehn is a Professor of Political Science at The University of Montana and a recipient of the 2011 Michael P. Malone Award for International Leadership, granted by the Association of Public and Land Grant Universities. Dr. Koehn also received The University of Montana's Distinguished Scholar Award in 2005 and is a Fulbright New Century Scholar. Dr. Koehn currently directs the University's undergraduate minor in International Development Studies (IDS) and its Peace Corps Prep program. His teaching portfolio includes core courses in development administration (IDS minor), rural and global health (Masters of Public Health program), sustainable climate policies (Climate Change Studies minor), comparative government (Political Science option), politics of global migration (IDS minor), issues in global public health (freshman Global Leadership Initiative seminar), management skills (Masters of Public Administration program), and African politics (African American Studies minor).
In 2007, Dr. Koehn developed the International Research and Development Project Database as the Association of Public and Land Grant University's first faculty fellow and participated in the Africa-U.S. Higher Education Initiative. Over the course of his career, he has taught and conducted research at universities in Ethiopia, Nigeria, Eritrea, Namibia, China, Hong Kong, and Finland. Dr. Koehn has eight published books, 45 chapters in edited volumes, and 57 articles in peer-reviewed journals. His 2010 book, Transnational Competence: Empowering Professional Curricula for Horizon-Rising Challenges, co-authored with James N. Rosenau, is available from Paradigm Publishers.
