New Faculty Orientation Guide
Message from Provost Brown
Welcome to the University of Montana! We are delighted that you have joined our faculty, and hope that you will find this to be a place where you can excel in your field, while contributing to our vibrant academic community. We consider our faculty members' professional and personal fulfillment an essential part of our students' success, and crucial to our further development as a dynamic and productive institution.
We hope that the information on this page will be useful as you start your UM career. If you don’t find the information you need here, a number of people on campus, including those who will speak at orientation events, are here to help you. Your dean and department chair, along with individuals within Human Resource Services and the Office of the Provost will be happy to help answer any questions you might have.
At the University of Montana we are focused on implementing the five strategic goals outlined in our strategic plan, UM 2020: Building a University for the Global Century. They are as follows: Partnering for Student Success, Education for the Global Century, Discovery and Creativity to Serve Montana and the World, Dynamic Learning Environment, and Planning-Assessment Continuum. As faculty members, teachers, researchers, advisors, and engaged members of the University community, you are key to helping our institution achieve these goals. I look forward to seeing you on campus and wish you the best for the 2014-2015 academic year.
Perry J. Brown
