Wednesday, October 17, 3:10-4:00 p.m. Todd 205. Tackling program review. Representatives from the Office of the Provost and Paul Muench, Chair of the Department of Philosophy, will lead an interactive discussion of the details of program review and offer advice on efficiently completing the process.

Wednesday, November 7, 3:10-5:00 p.m. Todd 203. Managing staff and colleagues: Skills for improving your department’s work environment. Balancing departmental management responsibilities with your role as a colleague can be tricky. Join Amie Thurber, Executive Director of the National Coalition Building Institute (NCBI) Missoula, to learn strategies for bridging this divide and creating a positive, collaborative work environment.



NEW DATE & TIME: Friday, March 1, 3:10-4:00 p.m. UC 329 (Alumni Boardroom). The role of a chair regarding challenging, worrisome or potentially violent students and employees. Chris Fiore, Chair of the Crisis Intervention and Referral Team, will discuss recommended procedures for managing difficult situations.



Friday, March 15, 3:10-4:00 p.m. UC 329 (Alumni Boardroom). Understanding the relationship between UM, the Legislature and the Board of Regents. Neil Moisey, Interim Deputy Commissioner for Academic, Research, and Student Affairs in the Office of the Commissioner of Higher Education, will offer his insights on these critical relationships and lead a discussion on current state policies.
