Office of the Provost
and Vice President for Academic Affairs
All Level II Center proposals require both Faculty Senate and Board of Regents approval.
To submit a proposal for a new center, please use the Level II procedures and forms. Proposals are submitted first to the Provost, who sends copies to the President, relevant administrators, and the Faculty Senate. The Provost and the Faculty Senate provide a written rationale for a recommendation of approval or disapproval to the President. The President considers all recommendations and provides a written explanation of the decision to each reviewer and the University community. If the President approves, the proposal goes to the Board of Regents for final authorization.
Please see Montana Board of Regents' Policy 218 regarding Institutional Organization, and UM Policy 103, Establishment and Periodic Review of Academic Institutes, Bureaus, Centers, Stations, Labs, and Other Similar Entities.
