Autumn 2012 Course Schedule Production Calendar

REGISTRATION DATES & DEADLINES

Key dates for various activities/deadlines can now be found via the Official Dates Calendar.

EARLY ALERT PROGRAM - MIDTERM GRADING REMINDER

The Early Alert Program is one of the student success initiatives.  All faculty instructing 100/200 level and remedial courses are asked to assess students in those classes by the fourth week of the term and then enter a midterm grade of DEF (Deficient) or RDEF (deficient in a remedial course) ONLY for those students who are doing deficient work.  The grade is entered in the midterm grading portion of CyberBear.  Details about this program and grade entry can be found in the Early Alert section of the Registrar's website.

GRADE MODE CHANGES - TRADITIONAL & CREDIT/NO-CREDIT

Students continue to seek relief from poor class performance late in the term by requesting that instructors change the student's grade mode for the class from traditional mode to Credit/No-credit mode well after the 15th day of the term.  A number of faculty members have reported the behavior and shared that they were concerned about the fairness of allowing a student the option to change well after published deadlines, while other students might not be afforded the same option.  In order for a student to have the option to elect Credit/No-credit grading, the course must be set up in Banner with that grading option, and the course syllabus should reflect that Credit/No-credit grading is available.

If the course is not set up with Credit/No-credit, and the syllabus does not provide students the Credit/Non-credit option, we've always strictly interpreted the policy and will not process the student's request to change grade mode.

Additional information regarding Credit/Non-Credit grading is available via the Catalog.
