Registration Information

CYBERBEAR

All students register for classes by using CyberBear, the web registration system. Undergraduate students must be advised in their primary major department and obtain an advising number before registering. Registration is usually available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. CyberBear is reached at the web address: http://www.umt.edu/CyberBear/.  In order to access CyberBear the student is required to enter the student identification number (790#) and PIN (Personal Identification Number). The initial assigned PIN is the indviduals birth date - month/day/year.  This is entered as a six-digit number.  For example, January 9, 1975, is 010975.   For extra security, individuals are required to change their PIN from the birth date to a new six character PIN when they first log into CyberBear.

If a student has forgotten what his/her PIN number is, the student should enter his/her 790# in the login information and click "Forgot Pin?".  You will be required to answer the security question set by the student during the initial login.  The Registration Counter in Griz Central can resent the pin number to the students' date of birth if they verify identification by presenting his/her photo ID.

ADVISING PINS

Undergraduate students are required to obtain a new advising number each semester from his/her academic advisor before registration.  This is a randomly assigned six-digit number.  This advising number is required when students first register for the term on CyberBear.

***Advising numbers are not given out by the Registrar's Office.***

Advising numbers are not required for graduate students and post baccalaureate students (students working on a second baccalaureate degree).
