Commencement Volunteer

The 2011 Commencement ceremonies will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2011.  Volunteers are required to accommodate the large numbers of guests and graduates.

If you can donate any of your time on that day, volunteers are necessary between 7:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.

A free t-shirt will be given to all the volunteers, and training sessions will be held the week before commencement.   You will receive your assignments at that time and refreshments will be provided.

Volunteer assistance is needed to help the Registrar's staff line up students and faculty in preparation for the processional and provide information and directions to guests.

If you would like to be part of the commencement ceremonies, please respond by Thursday, May 5th to Bonnie Holzworth at bonnie.holzworth@umontana.edu or x2997 and include times you are available, and if you have any mobility concerns.

 Training sessions:

We will be holding two training sessions from which you can choose.  Two hour blocks are scheduled because the session will include a walk-through of the processional route from the Oval to Washington-Grizzly Stadium for those who wish to do that.  The walk-through is optional.

EL 272 (Lommasson Center, 2nd floor, the room is located in the Undergraduate Advising Center area)

1)      May 10 from 1-3

2)      May 11 from 2-4

If you can't attend a training session, please contact Bonnie Holzworth (see directory information above) to schedule a time that will work for you.

Thanks for helping make the 2011 Commencement Ceremony as enjoyable as possible for the students, parents, alumni and campus community.
