At this time University Villages has a waiting list for all apartment types.  Any apartments that become available will be offered to applicants from the waiting list with Families receiving first priority.  While apartments will continue to be offered as they become available, and students may still choose to submit an application and be placed on the waiting list, we encourage students to also explore other housing options.

Apartment offers are made by priority first, then by date applied, and lastly by requested move in date.

• Priority 1) Students with Families
• Priority 2) Single Students
• Priority 3) UM Faculty & Staff
• Priority 4) Current UV Residents requesting transfer of unit.

University Villages apartments are year-round living. Tenants are not required to move out unless they will not be returning to school for the upcoming semester.

Vacating tenants are required to provide the University Villages Office with a 30-day vacate notice. Once notice is given, University Villages staff will contact the next person on the waiting list to offer the apartment.

Once you have applied, your application will stay active unless you fail to update every six months, fail to respond to update letters or apartment offers, or if you remove yourself from the waiting list. If any of your contact information changes once you have applied, please be sure to contact the University Villages staff so that they may update the changes on your application.

Once an apartment has been offered and accepted, the tenant must pay a $350.00 damage deposit to hold the apartment. The deposit must be received within 7 days of the apartment offer. This deposit must be paid before a tenant may check out keys to the apartment.

Arriving and Checking In

Once your apartment assignment has been made, you will receive confirmation via email of your assignment and check-in date. To check in and receive keys and access to your University Villages apartment, please come to the University Villages Office at 1 Elkhorn Court. The University Villages Office is open Monday-Friday from 8:00 am-5:00 pm. If you arrive outside of these times, please call the University Villages on-call phone at (406) 243-6030 to check into your apartment. When arriving to University Villages, please bring a photo ID for check-in. Due to our Quiet Hours policy, you may only move your belongings in between the hours of 8:00 am-9:00 pm.

When checking into University Villages please bring a photo ID. Please note that you will be required to have paid your prorated rent to receive your keys to your apartment. Please note that rent can be paid at the UM Housing Office in Turner Hall Monday-Friday from 8:00 am-4:00 pm. The prorated rent charge, which is stated on the confirmation letter, is based on the date a tenant has agreed to take possession of the apartment. This date is specified on your rental agreement. Upon check-in, you will also receive additional important information concerning University Villages.
