Retiree Privileges

The University of Montana appreciates your service. To acknowledge your contribution, UM offers a variety of perks and privileges. These fall into two categories: those for all retirees and additional privileges for lifetime retirees (15+ years of service). A Griz Card must be presented to access many of the privileges described on this page.

Privileges for All UM-Missoula Retirees

Campus Recreation and Grizzly Pool Access

UM retirees and their spouses can retain their eligibility to access the Fitness and Recreation Center and Grizzly Pool by joining the University of Montana Alumni Association. UMAA retirees/retiree spouses can purchase memberships for $20/month for each member. Questions? Call 243-2802.

E-mail Account

Retirees may retain their UM e-mail account. Ask your IT department to not close it. Please also provide the UM Alumni association with a personal (non-UM) email at alumni@umontana.edu

Mansfield Library Borrowing Privileges

Retirees receive the same privileges as a "Montana Borrower." Questions? Call 243-5618.

UM Computer Labs

Retirees may access labs using their NetID and password. Questions? Call 243-HELP.

Insurance

Eligible Retirees electing to continue on the MUS Retiree medical plan have Wellness benefits such as WellCheck twice a year and flu shots. For information, visit the MUS Benefits website at https://choices.mus.edu/Retirees.html or call 1-877-501-1722.

Wireless Services

UM Retirees can have IT set up wireless service on campus for personal laptops. For more information, visit the IT website.

Athletic Tickets

Two complimentary tickets per game to UM sponsored athletic events, including: football (not available online), basketball, volleyball and soccer games (excludes certain events). Tickets can be obtained in person from the Adams Center Box Office on the Monday prior to the game. For details, call 243-4051.

Bookstore Discounts

Contact the UM Bookstore at 243-1234.

Mansfield Library Borrowing Privileges

Lifetime retirees retain the same borrowing privileges as current faculty and staff. For information, call 243-5618.

Parking

The University of Montana eliminated the free parking permit beginning September 2023 (letter to President's Office re parking). Visitor parking for $1.00/hour is available through the new Passport app. Questions? Call 243-6132.
