Conduct Codes and Procedures

Student Conduct Code. The student conduct code governs all University of Montana students and is under review during spring 2013. When the new code has been finalized, we'll share the changes here.
Student Athlete Conduct Code. Our new student-athlete conduct code went into effect on March 15, 2012. In addition to being posted online, a copy of the code is disseminated to all student athletes at the beginning of each season. Teams review the material together. The new code creates an Athletic Conduct Team (ACT), which is charged with enforcing the policies within the code and imposing appropriate penalties. Coaches are no longer involved in imposing penalties but they, along with the Athletic Director, will help enforce those handed down by ACT.
Reporting Procedures. As of March 2012, UM employees are required to report any known incident of sexual assault involving students (except where statutorily prohibited). Employees aren’t required to report a victim's name if the victim doesn’t want to be identified.
