What's next for student safety

UM Campus

Evaluation. We’ll be doing a regular series of “climate surveys” so we can track the impact of UM’s sexual assault awareness training and determine how knowledge/attitudes change over time.

Grants and other resources. The Department of Justice Office of Violence against Women awarded UM a $297,000 grant in October 2012 to expand, reorganize and streamline our approach to addressing interpersonal violence. The grant funds co-directors of student assault prevention and programming for three years, and provides support for a variety of UM programs and services, including UM’s Men of Strength Club, Women’s and Gender Studies, the School of Social Work, the Department of Counselor Education, a student assault prevention lecture series, and training for UM’s administrative personnel, Campus Security and the Missoula Police Department.
