University police. The Office of Public Safety can be reached 24 hours a day at (406) 243-4000 for emergencies, or (406) 243-6131 for non-emergencies. In the event of an emergency, anyone can call 9-1-1 to reach the Missoula City Police.
Nighttime escort service. Grizzly Personal Safety is a free service available seven days a week while school is in session. GPS members will meet callers and walk them to their destinations, ensuring that no one on campus has to walk alone after dark. GPS can be reached at (406) 243-2777.
Title IX Coordinator. The Title IX Coordinator in the Office of Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action is responsible for responding to complaints about sexual harassment and assault, along with other grievances. All students, employees and university affiliates should feel comfortable calling the office to confidentially report an incident. All students should know how and where to report discrimination, including sexual harassment. Such reports are addressed equitably and promptly.
It's Your Call Missoula. UM has teamed up with the City of Missoula to ensure that victims of sexual violence have a single place to turn for help: missoula911.com. Resources are available for reporting a crime and accessing mental and physical health services.
Smart911. Smart911 allows you to create a private safety profile that instantly transmits information you specify to the dispatcher's computer screen when you place an emergency call. This technology can relay critical information to emergency responders even if you are unable to communicate normally.
Sexual Misconduct Resources. UM also has its own website that provides comprehensive resources about all forms of sexual misconduct prevention and response.
