Offer UM Credit
By working through the School of Extended & Lifelong Learning, community providers of education can offer university credit for their courses.
The most common offerings are field/experiential courses, continuing training for teachers, and international travel courses. Courses begin and end throughout each semester, and course length varies from a long weekend to several months. Students register and pay a course fee directly to the sponsoring agency, in addition to a credit recording fee paid to UM.
By partnering with academic departments at UM and a variety of outside organizations, UM's Extended Credit Program is able to offer an array of academic credit courses designed for teacher recertification, professional development, and personal enrichment. These courses all meet UM’s standards for academic rigor.
