American Indian graduate students pursuing degrees in natural science at The University of Montana are eligible for a new scholarship program established by the A.P. Sloan Foundation. Professor Sandy Ross, Special Assistant to the Associate Provost for Graduate Education, is the principal investigator of the program and Professor Penny Kukuk is the co-principal investigator of the grant. Dr. Patrick Weaselhead is the cultural advisor for the program.
The Sloan Scholars Program is intended to increase the number of American Indian students in the sciences. It provides supplemental funding of $30,000 over a two-year period for master's level students and $36,000 over a three-year period for doctoral students.
