Center for Biomolecular Structure and Dynamics

We at the Center for Biomolecular Structure and Dynamics (CBSD) apply the methods and concepts of biophysics, structural biology and mathematics to understand the mechanistic basis of biological processes in health and disease. Our faculty is drawn from the basic and biomedical sciences in the Colleges of Humanities and Sciences and the College of Health Professions and Biomedical Sciences. Disciplines represented by Center faculty range from cellular biology, pharmacology, neurobiology, biochemistry and synthetic chemistry to computational research in chemistry and biology. The mission of the Center is to foster biophysically informed research throughout the University of Montana (UM) research community.

Center for Environmental Health Sciences

The primary research mission of the Center for Environmental Health Sciences is to advance knowledge of environmental impacts on human health. CEHS brings together researchers to investigate mechanisms of diseases, immune disorders, genetic susceptibility, and the impacts of environmental factors.

Disability Services for Students

Family Medicine Residency of Western Montana

The Family Medicine Residency of Western Montana program exists to provide superior, comprehensive education in Family Medicine. We are committed to developing family physicians that are compassionate, clinically competent, and motivated to serve patients and communities in the rural and underserved areas of Montana. FMRWM is affiliated with the UM College of Health Professions and Biomedical Sciences.

Flathead Lake Biological Station

The Flathead Lake Biological Station is an ecological research and education center located in the Rocky Mountains near Glacier National Park. For over 100 years, we have conducted college courses, graduate programs, and research focused on the Crown of the Continent ecosystem.

Flight Lab

Located at the Fort Missoula Field Research Station at the confluence of the Bitterroot Clark Fork Rivers, the UM Flight Lab sheds light on one of nature's most profound phenomena: flight.

Legal Atlas Initiative

Legal Atlas is a new initiative of The University of Montana that combines the power of cloud-based data management, GIS-applications, and scientific and legal information to study/map the use of law as a management tool for the world's environment, agricultural, energy, and natural resources. We offer research and internship opportunities for a variety of subjects including law, geography, environmental studies, communications, computer sciences, business and more.
