KAIN/McKAY SCHOLARSHIP IN APPLIED SOCIOLOGY

The Kain/McKay Scholarship in applied sociology is intended to defray costs for academic projects that involve some practical application of sociological knowledge. Applied projects can include internships, independent study courses, and omnibus work. Applicants must be undergraduates in Sociology with at least 32 credits taken at The University of Montana, with at least two core course in sociology and a minimum GPA of 3.0. Awards of $1,248.00 are given over one or two semesters. Students can receive only one award. The scholarship will be awarded based upon the potential for successful completion of the project. Please submit a copy of your transcript along with this application. Please circle the semester(s) of your project. (Awards for summer internships will be paid Fall Semester 2007.) NOTE: Being awarded this scholarship may result in a decrease in your financial aid. Students applying for this scholarship must plan to be in attendance at UM at least through Fall Semester 2007.
