Staff Senate Election Results!

Congratulations to newly elected Staff Senators who will begin their terms at the June 13 Staff Senate meeting when officers will be elected.  New Senators will serve a two year term.  They are  Jay Bruns, Kristine Csorosz, Kennden Culp, Shane Heivly, Maggie Linder, Alissa McGregor, Jaylene Naylor, Kathleen O'Leary, Jimmy Stevens, Kathie Tattory, and Maureen Ward 

Mansfield Library Schedules Events

Two workshops are being offered soon at Mansfield Library:  What the Library Can Do For You, June 13, 11-Noon, in MLIB 238 and Copyrights, June 20, 11 a.m. - Noon, in MLIB 238.  Also, on July 18, in the Library Lobby, everyone is welcome to their Ice Cream Social!

The Mansfield Library offers resources and services for all members of the University Community...poster-printing, meeting space, historical information on UM, music, books, DVDs, CDs, etc.  Stop in, call them, or send a messsage 243-6866 or www.lib.umt.edu.

Staff Caring for Staff

At The University of Montana we take care of our fellow staff members. You may donate sick leave directly to fellow staff members in need. For more information, contact Carol Bates at 243-2836 or carol.bates@umontana.edu.

Scholarship Winners Announced

Five children of classified staff who are students at The University of Montana have been awarded Staff Senate Scholarships.  Congratulations to Megan Minnick, daughter of Cheryl Minnick in Internship Services; Karley Whisman, daughter of Janay Whisman in Career Services; Sarah Hogue, daughter of Diana McIntyre in Pharmacy Practice at Curry Health Center; Tyler Davis, son of Janis Davis in the Art Department; and Cassandra O'Leary, daughter of Kathleen O'Leary at the Bitterroot College Program.  Also, many thanks to the following departments who provided additional funding or prizes for Scholarship winners and runners-up:  The President's Office, The Bookstore, Residence Life, Office of Public Safety, University Dining Services, and University Center.

Help Fund Scholarships for Children of Staff!

You can make a big difference and help your fellow staff members by contributing to the Staff Senate Scholarship Fund.  Write a check to Staff Senate Scholarships and send it to Heather Hibbard in Student Support Services.  Or, an easy way to contribute is by making small, regular contributions through payroll deduction.  Even $5 per month would be a great donation!  Your contributions are tax deductible!  Here is the form: Staff Senate Scholarship Contributions 

Guaranteed Ride Home

In the event of an emergency, illness or unexpected overtime, Missoula In Motion’s Guaranteed Ride Home program provides a safe, reliable and free way to get home for commuters who vanpool, carpool, bike, walk or ride the bus. Think of it as a sustainable transportation insurance policy. If you are a Way To Go! Club member, carpooler or vanpooler registered with the Missoula Ravalli TMA, a monthly bus pass holder, an EZ Pass holder, or if you are a university student who uses your Griz Card for commuting on the bus, you can call Yellow Cab at 543-6644 and show them your membership card. The Guaranteed Ride Home may be used up to four times per calendar year. For questions about the Guaranteed Ride Home, contact Missoula In Motion at 258-4961.
