Registration and Griz Central Coordinator
“We would like to thank Dawn Barnhart for her exceptional service at the Registration counter, particularly with regard to registration procedures for the Upper Division Writing Proficiency Assessment (UDWPA). Dawn’s patience in helping students, and her exceptional communication with the Writing Center staff allowed for effective UDWPA transactions for everyone involved. In addition to making sure she and her staff had timely information about available seats and Wait Lists, Dawn also proactively made the registration process easier for students and for Writing Center staff. We are grateful to have had such a proactive and committed partner in Dawn.”

Sign Language Interpreter, Disability Services for Students
Despite a very full plate all semester, Bonnie has piled more on her plate by cheerfully accepting projects that needed to be completed in a short period of time. The last project was something new! She provided captioning for a University of Montana Theatre and Dance Department production of Shakespeare's "Comedy of Errors"! It was a huge success and the people attending loved the new accommodation that was presented. It was a win-win situation for the audience, Disability Services for Students and the University of Montana!

Scheduling Coordinator, Registrar's Office
Over this academic year David Devolve has given tirelessly of his time and effort to help me acclimate to my position as the UM School of Law registrar. He cleaned up my errors, taught me about a million new processes and continually answered question after question without a hint of frustration or irritation (that the situation surely warranted). I am continually impressed by how he keeps so many balls in the air at the same time. Every time I enter his office I see the physical manifestation of the literal mountains of work he tackles every day, and I am even more grateful for the extra time he has taken to help me learn the ropes and be of better service to UM students. There never seems to be enough time to complete all of the tasks that need accomplishing in a day, but he manages to get it done and, through it all, continues to be gracious and thoughtful. David is an outstanding example of what student service and staff support at UM are all about.

Benefits Specialist, Human Resource Services
Rita leads the UM employee Annual Benefits Elections each year. She provides multiple communications and presentations so employees are informed of the current choices and any changes to benefits packages. In addition, with the help of other HRS and IT employees, she provides one-on-one assistance in the Liberal Arts Building Computer Lab for three weeks so employees can get help, if needed. She exceeds expectations every year!

Administrative Associate, Defense Critical Language and Culture Program
It is an honor for me to recognize a staff member who performs her duties and responsibilities in an outstanding manner. Chelsey Porter is one of the most dedicated and professional employees I have ever worked with. Chelsey is exactly the right person to man our front desk. She meets the public well. She is a great ambassador for the DCLCP. People like her immediately. She always has a smile and a warm personal greeting for every customer that walks in the door. She treats them all the same - from the Director of the Mansfield Center to the FEDEX delivery man. She accomplishes a great deal of work every single day, taking on more than she should because she does not want to say no to anyone. Her integrity is beyond reproach; she never claims something is done when it isn't, and she never has an excuse when something is awry. She is a steady influence in the office. She puts in long hours to get the job done and is available 24x7. She is a self-starter. She is always courteous and considerate. She has the greatest depth of total office/administrative/finance knowledge/experience of anyone in the office. She is perceptive and innovative. She is a superb team builder and a valuable member of our team.

Director of Student Services, College of Forestry and Conservation
Shonna went above and beyond helping the College of Forestry prepare for their Centennial Celebration. She stayed late helping with preparations like name tags, manned the registration table, sold merchandise, helped take donations, solved problems, and organized other staff. She did all of this with a smile AND while doing her “day job” of helping students with all of their needs.
