Web Contact Specialist, IT
Elizabeth took a very unruly page from the Staff Senate web site and turned it into a user friendly page, which makes my life so much easier when adding new senators to that page. She took exactly what I wanted and changed the page to make it so much easier to work with. The page also looks much better than it did before. Thank you, Elizabeth, for going above and beyond what was expected and helping to simplify the process!

Each year Heather so graciously picks up all the department staff's W2 forms for us. This saves us all a lot of time, especially for our coaches who are busy with their winter sports. Thanks to Heather, we don't have to walk all the way across campus in the snow and ice to pick up these forms. I really appreciate that. Thanks again, Heather, for going above and beyond your job duty!

Administration and Finance
I am employed as the Director of Human Resources for the Foundation, and for the past three years I have been working to ensure contact information for Foundation staff is accurate and accessible through university venues - specifically the campus guide and online directory. Carol has been very patient and has helped me to understand how entries in the Banner database affect the production of this type of information. She has taken time from other critical projects to work with me and make sure that all of our staff information is correct in the system. As a result of her efforts, along with others, our donors, friends, and others who are interested in giving to the University can easily find contact information from the UM website. Thank you Carol!

My research relies heavily on the staff and facilities of Laboratory Animal Resources (LAR). I would like to express my deep gratitude for the efforts of Kelly Carrick, the Facility Manager of LAR. These outstanding efforts have helped greatly facilitate my research efforts and just made my life much easier. It is a real pleasure to work with Kelly!

I came to work this morning with a sore knee but thought I could make it into my office okay. John saw me limping and offered to help. He walked back to my car in the parking garage and got my crutch for me, plus gave me his cell number in case I needed more help. He is the kindest human being I know. Thank you, John!

Randy provided outstanding support services before, during and after webcasting and videotaping the seminar of an invited national speaker sponsored by the Dept. of Biomedical and Pharmaceutical Sciences and the Office of the Vice President for Research and Development. His service was prompt, friendly, cooperative, efficient and effective. He facilitated 26 computers linking into the live webcast and 10 DVDs being sent to institutions in the northwest US. The success of this venture was well beyond our expectations and was directly related to the great customer service and technical expertise of Randy Gottfried.

Josh committed to support American Indian Student Services during the welcome week prior to spring semester. Not only did he support the welcome event our department hosted, he went above and beyond to ensure the food was supplied. He exceeded his budget by three times to show his commitment. We were unaware that he exceeded his budget this much until this December. The event was a success, and we would not have had such success without Josh's dedication to our department.

Plumbing Staff, Facilities Services
We house mice in the colony facility in Skaggs, room 29. We had several litters of new mice that were very sensitive to disruption and critical to our experiment. Often when mothers with a new litter are disturbed they will lose the litter. Despite having plumbing to do in the room, the staff of Dave DeMinck and co-worker accommodated our situation and waited more than three weeks to start the job in the room for the new litters to get old enough to live on their own. This was a huge help. Thanks a lot!

Extended Learning in Continuing Education
Janie Spencer can best be described with one word: friendly. She is one of the cheeriest people I have ever met. I have not known her for a long time, but in the time I got to know her, she had nothing but a positive attitude and continuous smile. She is one of those people whom, if you were to hear that someone did not like her, you would immediately ask why because that thought has never crossed your mind. She aided me with questions I had regarding the National Conference on Undergraduate Research (held last year) and was extremely resourceful, professional, and welcoming. She is truly an asset to have at the University.
