Staff Senate Scholarship

The Staff Senate fundraises each year to offer multiple scholarships for the children of staff at The University  Montana - Missoula.  Applicants must be enrolled at UM (either the Mountain Campus or the College of Technology) as a full-time student (at least 12 credits) in the upcoming academic school year.

This scholarship is open to incoming freshmen, continuing education students, graduate students, and transfer students.  Previous recipients are eligible to apply.  Awards are based on scholastic ability, campus and community involvement, and/or financial need.

To be considered for a scholarship the applicant must complete and submit the official application form, a one-page biographical statement, two letters of recommendation, official transcripts, and a Financial Aid Needs Analysis for Scholarships form.  The Staff Senate Scholarship application process for the 2012-2013 school year is open.  For questions regarding the Scholarship program, please contact the Staff Senate office (406) 243-5422 or one of the following committee members:

Besides fundraising, the Staff Senate relies on donations from the campus community to fund these scholarships. This is an opportunity for anyone to give in order to benefit fellow UM employees and their families. Your contribution - even $5.00 - would benefit a deserving student.

You can contribute in any of the following ways:

• Cash or check made out to Staff Senate
• Payroll deduction
• Contributions can be given as a memorial for a loved one or friend.
• Donations from departments; for instance, The Bookstore at The University of Montana, Office of Public Safety, and Griz Card Center.
