Tickets for TEDxUMontana are now on sale. The event will take place Friday, Feb. 20, 2015 from 4-9 p.m. in the UM Dennison Theater.
Tickets are $40 for general admission and $20 for students. Food and light refreshments will be provided. The event will not be available as a live webcast and tickets are limited.
It is with great sadness that we mourn the passing of UM Media Arts teacher extraordinaire Dale Sherrard, one of our 2013 TEDxUMontana speakers. He graced us with his wit, his insightful remarks, his flawless timing and delivery, and his beauty. Rest in peace, Dale. You are deeply and profoundly missed. "Do you hear what I hear?" This year, we focus on the theme of language, exploring the diverse fields of human endeavor. Language shapes our conscious thought and creative expression; it is a declaration of identity and is unique to professional discourse. It can be lost, invented or revitalized. It is a flexible medium that adapts and changes through use. This TEDxUMontana will examine our interactions with language from various aspects including programming language, preservation of native language and language as the stimulus for scientific and artistic advancement.
