Congratulations to BFA Dance majors Katie McEwen and Claire Christensen, whose piece “Ps & Qs” was chosen to be performed in the Gala Concert at the American College Dance Festival Association's Northwest Regional Conference in Cedar City, Utah, in mid-March! Theirs was among eight pieces chosen for the production out of over 25 adjudicated works created and performed by students, faculty, and guest artists from the region.
The School of Theatre & Dance is housed in a fine, multi-million dollar performing arts complex which includes three theatre/dance performance spaces and National Public Radio and Public Broadcasting System studios. The program is production-oriented with approximately ten major productions presented each year including contemporary, historical, period, musical, and experimental plays, as well as dance concerts. The Montana Repertory Theatre, a professional touring company based at UM, often involves students both on- and off-stage. The faculty is strong, possessing a diversity of educational and professional theatre and dance backgrounds.
The College of Visual and Performing Arts also offers a master's degree in Integrated Art and Education.
