Acting/Directing - Degrees Offered - Theatre Education
The Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in theatre allows students to work toward an endorsement to teach Theatre in primary and secondary schools. This area of specialiation is known as the BA in theatre education endorsement preparation. A student pursuing this endorsement must gain admission to Teacher Education and Student Teaching and meet all the requirements for certification as a secondary teacher (see the College of Education and Human Performance Department of Curriculum and Instruction).
The demand in Montana high schools for teaching courses in this field is limited. Students should complete the required second endorsement (major or minor) in a field other than Economics, Geography, Journalism, Psychology or Sociology.
