“As a teacher I will strive to act with integrity in everything that I do, with the goal of graduating individuals who are not only better performers and directors, but also better people for their experience with me. I promise to be kind, fair, honest, and a good role model for my young students. A young impressionable person pursuing an education in acting needs to learn not only to act believably, use his/her voice effectively, and guide other actors, but also how to become the type of person with whom future directors and company members would like to spend time. Therefore, it is important that through my example, students learn to discuss, give feedback, take the note, and strive towards excellence, all the while acting politely and responsibly and with integrity. It is my strong belief that we cannot forget that although these are young adults, they are also someone’s son or daughter who needs personal guidance and a firm, yet kind, hand.”
