In December, there are three sets of Design/Technology Portfolio Reviews: one for future BFA students, one for current BFA/MFA students, and one for graduating BFA students. Please see the information below to find where you fit … and visit the Design/Technology callboard to confirm your name is on the correct list and to sign up for an interview time!
- Freshman and first-year transfer Design/Technology students who are in the BA program but plan on applying to the BFA program in May (or who are applying to the BFA now) will present their portfolios on Thursday, December 5, between 2:15-4:10P in the Seminar Room (PARTV 190). These students will present a current resume and portfolio to the faculty and staff. Each student needs to bring seven copies of his/her resume and will have five minutes to discuss his/her portfolio and will receive up to five minutes of feedback from the faculty and staff. Portfolio material should include examples from class work, production work, and any other appropriate creative work. Please contact any faculty/ staff member or graduate student if you have questions on portfolio development.
- Sophomore/Junior/Senior Design/Technology students will present their resumes/portfolios on Friday, December 6, in the Scene Shop (PARTV 140). These students will present a current resume and portfolio to the faculty and staff in U/RTA format. Students will set up their portfolios ONLY between 8-10A that morning on the tables provided in the Scene Shop for public viewing. Portfolio material should include class work, production work, and any work outside the School that is pertinent. Each display station includes a vertical surface measuring 3’ x 6’ and a horizontal surface measuring 2’6” x 6’. Students should prepare multiple copies of their resumes to leave on their U/RTA table for faculty/staff/guests to take during the 10A-1P viewing time. Feedback sessions with the Design/Technology faculty and staff will be between 1-5P in the Scene Shop.
- Senior Design/Technology students who are graduating from the BFA program in December (or in May but will be off-campus Spring Term) will present their portfolios on Friday, December 6, between 11A-noon in the Seminar Room (PARTV 190). These students will present current resumes and portfolios to the faculty and staff. Each student needs to bring seven copies of his/her resume and will have fifteen minutes to discuss his/her portfolio and his/her time at the School of Theatre & Dance. Portfolio material should be complete, professional, and comprehensive.
