The Senior Project is an off-campus, community-based project designed by individual BFA Dance majors. For the Senior Project, students choose to develop either a choreography/performance project or teaching project that is offered to the Missoula or greater Montana community.
Examples of past choreography/performance projects have included:
- Presenting an individual or collaborative dance performance in the Missoula community
- Presenting choreography at a gallery or at the Missoula Art Museum as part of the First Friday Art Walk
- Presenting choreography for “First Night Missoula,” a family-friendly New Year's Eve event
- Presenting choreography to support a non-profit organization
Examples of past teaching projects have included:
- Offering a contemporary dance workshop to local or out-of-state dance studios
- Offering creative movement workshops for children’s summer camps
- Offering dance classes for at-risk youth
- Offering dance classes for senior citizens
- Offering dance classes for individuals with disabilities in group homes
