Karen Carreno, Accompanist
Karen received a BFA from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, where she then joined the Dance Department as head musician, playing for modern and ballet classes and teaching Music for Dancers, along with working as an accompanist for the Milwaukee Ballet Company. In 1986, Ms. Carreno moved to Los Angeles and accompanied modern and ballet classes at California Institute of the Arts, Loyola-Marymount College, Stanley Holden Dance Center, and Westside Ballet. She has accompanied for Lewitzsky Summer Workshops, Colorado College Ballet Intensive, and internationally at the Balleto de Roma (Rome, Italy) and Young Tanzsommer (Vienna, Austria). Karen is currently the music director for Rocky Mountain Ballet Theatre in Missoula, where she accompanies classes and performs with the RMBT company. She toured to China in 2008 and 2010 with RMBT and accompanied for the National Ballet of China. Karen has released two CDs for ballet classes.
