Dance - Faculty - Eggert

Heidi Jones Eggert, Assistant Professor

20th-Century Dance, Composition, Modern, Creative Movement for the Disabled

Heidi has experience in teaching, choreography, and performance in private studios, professional venues, public schools, community colleges, and state universities with students ranging in age from three to 83. Prior to joining the faculty at The University of Montana, Heidi was a tenured Associate Professor of Dance at the College of San Mateo (California) as well as their Artistic Director and Dance Coordinator. Her performances have taken her to many parts of the country, most extensively San Francisco with kelly kemp & company, raw footage, Taproot Dance Project, MotionLab, and Lizz Roman & Dancers. Her recent piece, "Let's Go," was selected to be performed by students from the UM Dance Program at the May 2009 School of Fine Arts commencement ceremony.

While Heidi’s passion lies in teaching, creating, and performing modern dance, she has always enjoyed dance in any form, from contact improvisation to classical ballet, multicultural dance, musical theatre and more. She is enthusiastic about making dance accessible to everyone; honing in on creativity as well as technique; and encouraging a most expressive artist and a mindful audience.
