“My classroom is quite literally a laboratory. The work we do in the costume shop is often both experimental and precise. I believe that we all benefit from a strong foundation in basic skills. Any student can be successful in the costume shop, no matter if he/she has been sewing since he/she was small or has never threaded a needle. In this space we are all learning and helping each other to increase our skill sets and support the program. I embrace individual projects that allow students to express their full creative selves, while at the same time learn the skills necessary to support the school’s productions. I work very hard to help students reach their individual goals while stretching the limits of their imaginations. As artists in the theatre, we must be well-rounded and understand the world in which we work. It is my goal as an educator to help young artists develop their own voices and explore the many options available to them.”
