JULY 2016

Montana Bicycle Celebration: July 15th-17th. Adventure Cycling's 40th anniversary, the official opening of the Bitterroot Trail (Missoula to Hamilton), Sunday Streets and Bikeapalooza, all in one amazing jam-packed weekend! 

Tour of the Bitterroot: July 17th. Ride through scenic backroads of the Sapphire Mountains, just outside Hamilton, Montana to support the land trust's work to conserve the water, wildlife, and working lands of the Bitterroot Valley.

Bike Auction: July 20th, 5pm. 

Bike to the Ballpark: July 26th. Support the Missoula Osprey minor league baseball team with Bike to the Ballpark! All visitors who ride bikes to the games specified receive two-for-one tickets! Sponsored by PacificSource Health Plans & Trail 103.3 Bike to the Ballpark happens intermittenly throughout the season. Mark your calendar for the other dates: August 16, August 23, September 6. 

Out to Lunch: Each Wednesday, Mountain Line provides service to and from the Out to Lunch summer concert series in Caras Park in Downtown Missoula. Buses run to and from the Lewis and Clark Transfer Center and the Dornblaser Park and Ride lots. Park free in one of these lots or along Higgins and ride the bus downtown. Buses run approximately every 15 minutes between 10:45 am and 1:45 pm, each Wednesday from the beginning of June to the end of August. See a map.

Farmer's Market, People's Market, & the Clark Fork Market: Every Saturday during the summer, Mountain Line provides service to and from the markets in Downtown Missoula. Buses run to and from the Lewis and Clark Transfer Center and the Dornblaser Park and Ride lots. Park free at the Lewis and Clark Transfer Center, Dornblaser, or either of the downtown parking structures, and ride the bus FREE to the Saturday markets. Service begins at 8:55 am and runs approximately every 20 minutes. The last trip leaves downtown at 11:45 am. See a full schedule and map.

Poses and Pints for Pedals: Every Saturday from June to August. A YOGA CLASS to benefit Free Cycles community bike shop. Class is held outside on the deck at Imagine Nation Brewing at 10:45 am. $8 per person includes a one hour yoga class, one beer immediately after class, and a great opportunity to connect with friends and fellow Missoulians. *CASH ONLY PLEASE * Class will be held indoors in the event of bad weather. 


Hiawatha Cycle for ChampionsAugust 6th. Join in on the 4th annual Cycle of Champions as we ride the historic Hiawatha trail while raising funds for our Special Olympics Montana teams in the Five Valleys Area. 


Welcome Feast: Friday, September 2nd, from 11:30am - 1:30pm. Come to the Oval to talk to ASUM Transportation and TONS of other great student organizations about how to get involved on campus. 

Lost Trail Bike Fest: September 9th-12th. The best Mountain Bike Party in Montana and Idaho. Singletrack, shuttles, music, food. Come and celebrate great friends and great trails. This year we will be adding a few new trails on the other side of the highway.

Walk & Roll Week: September 17th-24th. Walk & Roll Week coincides with the City's Bike Walk Bus Week, and is an annual celebration of active and sustainable commuting. Events and prizes are awarded all week for students and staff the actively commute to campus.


Haunted UDASH: A Halloween costume contest, October 31st. Take a picture of yourself (or have a friend take a picture of you) wearing your Halloween costume on the Gold Line, upload it to Instagram with a short description, and tag it #hauntedUDASH. Best costume receives a prize!

Annual Events

30 Days of Biking: Every April. This is a social media contest for biking throughout the month of April.

Earth Week: The week of April 22nd.

May is National Bike Month! National Bike to Work Day is May 20th this year.
