Are you unsure about your major? Are you wondering what kind of
job you could have with your degree? Are you looking for a job that
will fit your specific needs? All of these questions involve Career
Advising. TRIO SSS has invested heavily in providing excellent tools
to help students answer these kinds of questions.
TRIO SSS Career Advising Tools
SIGI Plus: SIGI Plus (System of Interactive Guidance and Information)
is the best place to start if you've got career questions. This
user-friendly computer program helps students assess their personal
values and explore career options that best reflect those values.
Students can view college majors and jobs that match each major.
Specific occupational information is provided in 6-8 page print-outs.
Students can evaluate their skill level, learn how to make smart decisions
about a career, and even develop a resumé. E-mail TRIO SSS to make
an appointment at Trio.SSS@mso.umt.edu.
Confidential, personalized self-assessment: Darlene
Samson is trained and authorized as a career advisor to help administer
several self-assessments. Students answer a battery of questions
and receive feedback from national career centers. These are helpful
in narrowing the scope of career possibilities.
