Curriculum & Instruction 160
Learning Strategies for Higher Education

Professors Janet Zupan and Tammy Freimund teach this two-credit study skills course which helps students prepare for college learning.  While enrolled in C&I 160 and after successful completion of the course, TRIO SSS students have access to all other TRIO services. C&I 160 course content includes note taking tips, test taking strategies, reading textbooks efficiently and effectively, improving time management, and bolstering memory retention. Academic Advising

the smart study strategy

Using another person's expertise to achieve one's goals is a smart business strategy -- why not make it a smart study strategy, too?! Janet Zupan coordinates the TRIO SSS tutoring program. Janet trains outstanding UM students as tutors to help with 100 and 200 level math courses for up to three hours per week. Find out how tutoring can be your most effective study tool.

American Indian Peer Mentoring
American Indian TRIO SSS students support education and preservation

In coordination with American Indian Student Services, TRIO Student Support Services coordinates academic and social activities which match a new Native student with a peer Native student who's "been around the block" at UM.
