Mary Alvarez
Mary (Daniels) Alvarez was a student of Upward Bound for five years. She graduated from Great Falls High School in 1992. After high school, she went to college for a year studying Business. She decided that this is not what she wanted do, so she took time off to figure “things” out.
After taking three years off, she decided that she wanted to be a teacher, so she went back to the University of Montana. During this time, she worked as a counselor, Head Resident, Bridge Counselor, tutor and clerical assistant for Upward Bound. Mary has put the best years of her life into Upward Bound.
Currently, Mary teaches 8th grade Science in Arizona and is applying to graduate programs for her Master’s in Educational Leadership. She is so proud of the accomplishments that she has made in life and believes, that she could not have done it, if it wasn’t for Upward Bound.
