Olivia Bucks
Olivia Bucks (formerly Nisbet) was an Upward Bound participant for four years. She graduated from Charles M. Russell High School in Great Falls, Montana, in 1997. After graduation, she participated in Up With People, traveling through the United States, Canada and six European countries during her 1998 tour.
She attended the University of Montana from 1999 through 2002. During her four years at UM, she worked for the University newspaper, the Kaimin, as a page designer and photographer and was on the Dean's List her last three semesters. She graduated with a degree in Photojournalism in December 2002.
After five photojournalism internships, Olivia was hired as a full-time staffer at the Oregonian in 2005. Olivia is also a member of the Native American Journalists Association, having participated in the student newspaper project every summer in college, and continues to be a part of the mentor team for the same project.
