Bobby Tailfeathers

Bobby Tailfeathers

Robert (“Bob”) Tailfeathers participated in Upward Bound in 1968, 1969, and 1970.  A famed Native American artist, Bobby has illustrated several books, designed hundreds of logos, and currently draws weekly cartoons for the Glacier Reporter

Upon graduation in 1978 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Sociology from the University of Montana, Bobby continued his education.  He earned a Master’s Degree in Adult and Higher Education from Montana State University while working full-time as a tribal college educator.

Always committed to the cause of furthering educational opportunities for economically disadvantaged people, Bob applied his education toward his career as the director of Blackfeet Community College’s TRIO Student Support Services Program—a position he served for several years until his promotion to the Dean of Students at Blackfeet Community College.  For all his work and accomplishments, Bob was awarded the National Council For Opportunity Association’s highest award—The National TRIO Achiever’s Award.

Pictured with Bob in this summer 2010 photo is Mr. Bobby Knight—a retired Indiana Hoosiers basketball coach who led his teams to three NCAA championships.  Coach Knight is a personal fishing buddy of Mr. Tailfeathers.
