Although I grew up in Washington, I have happily called Montana home since 2006. After graduating from Gonzaga University (B.S. Exercise Science), I moved to eastern Montana with the Jesuit Volunteer Corps. After a year of volunteer service at St. Labre Indian School, I moved to Missoula for graduate school (M.S. Health Promotion). My research interests include type 2 diabetes prevention in Northern Plains Indian youth, physical activity promotion in at-risk youth, and familial/cultural factors that influence youth health behaviors. I also worked as an academic advisor for the Health and Human Performance Department at UM.
I am excited to have joined the Upward Bound team! I look forward to meeting all the students and I can’t wait to experience the much hyped summer program.
When I’m not working I enjoy camping, floating local rivers, being outside, cooking, and watching college basketball.
